About Us

Lategan and van Biljoens opened it’s doors in 1956 as a spares and repair shop for household appliances. Since then we have grown from strength to strength and in 1990 the repair division was sold.

The two companies, Lategan and van Biljoens and the workshop (van Biljoens appliance services) have been working hand in hand since then. After the splitting of the companies in 1990,

Lategan and van Biljoens has become the fastest growing independent appliance spare parts importer and distributor in South Africa, with over 50 permanent employees working in our store in Pretoria.

Our spare parts are distributed country wide and our spares retail counter is serviced by 5 dedicated salesmen with years of knowledge and experience.

In January 2012 we launched our online appliance spares catalogue, www.appliancespares.co.za, which both our wholesale and retail customers can order directly from.

Also in January 2012 we added a new appliance division next door. Since we initially opened our doors in 1956 our customers have always wanted to know what brand of appliance they should buy, with a good aftercare service, and we can now offer them exactly that.

From November 2022 we combined our two sites www.appliancespares.co.za and www.newappliances.co.za into our new site www.lvb.co.za 

Our mission is simple: supply customers with brands that offer a great aftersales service and a full range of spare parts that are readily available.

Sadly so many people buy appliances that break shortly after the warranty expires, only to find that there are no spare parts available. Lategan and van Biljoens plans to change this with our one stop appliance shop.
