EGO solid hotplate are protected with a top coat layer of lacquer which must be burnt into the casting before cooking utensils are placed onto the plate surface.
Directions:
Before use: switch on the hotplate to the maximum heat without a pot, for a period of 3-4 minutes, a light amount of smoke and smell will develop this is normal.
